traveling on a new road
happy new year!
so, i'm a little late, but maybe not. i have always tried to treat everyday as a "new year". i don't do "new year resolutions" and i try not to "wait until next year" to do what i could be doing now. but this past year (2012) was quite the year for me regarding changes in my life. unwanted changes. but changes that brought about a new way to figure out how i want to live my life in 2013. my life is still "underconstruction" as i plan new goals, revisit old goals, and try to see what's new up ahead on this new road i'm on. and when it's all said and done....i feel like i'm back in jr. high school heading to high school with idea on what to expect. looking forward to what i think will happen, but not really feeling secure in what i know or might happen. but just like high school-you take whatever comes at you at first, adjust to your new surroundings, and work from there. preparing goals, exploring new ideas, feelings, and experiences. and in the process-growing up just a little bit without even knowing it.
well, i'm not in my teens any more and my 20's are gone too (enough about age). but i find i'm still growing up-a work in progress-"underconstruction". i know that the correct way of spelling this word is "under (space) construction". i removed the space between the 2 words and made it one word on purpose, because this word can be fixed and corrected by simply adding the space in the appropriate place.
as men, we can be complicated: to our friends, to our family, to our church, to co-workers, and to ourselves. somethings aren't as easily fixed by adding a space to correct the problem. but you'll be surprised how many things in our life become more complicated because we make them so.
i hope as we travel on this road together this year, we can be supportive to each other as men to help put the right "spaces" in the right places. this road we're on is filled with space to travel for creativity, growth, change, and new beginnings up ahead. looking forward on this road trip together.
